Caring Club
Caring Club is one of the societies operating under the supervision of the Community Service (Censerve) Team of International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Caring Club was established in 1994 and consists of solely IIUM students and student’s alumni. Caring Club is strictly a non-profit organization and our fund sources only from Student Development Unit of IIUM and a small portion of generous donation from the public.
Caring Club main purpose is to serve the orphans and the underprivileged children in Malaysia to the best of our abilities. These are ordinary bright and radiant children whose brightness is cloaked by the reality of life. We aim at providing moral system of support as well as assisting them in the academic matters. At present, we are the program operator of three orphanages namely Rumah Raudhah Rumah Khadijah and Rumah Rabeka.
Our standard method in serving the children is by way of what we call ‘Mentoring’ and ‘Tutoring’. In Mentoring which is a form of guidance to the children, we guide them to be confidence, feel self-worth and motivate them to succeed in life. Our module for mentoring usually involves interactive games to stimulate interest and competitiveness whilst incorporating Islamic and cultural values at the same time.
On the other hand, Tutoring as it name stands requires us to be tutors for the kids in the academic sphere. Generally, in tutoring we help the kids with school works as well as providing tuition in exceptional cases. The subjects that usually need tutoring are Bahasa Melayu, Bahasa Inggeris and Matematik. Tuitions will be conducted by request of the orphanage guardian.
